For years, solutions of palladium nanoparticles (colloidal palladium) have been widely used as catalysts for various chemical transformations. There are plenty of methods for preparation and stabilization of such systems. One of the most convenient methods is thermal decomposition of simple palladium salts (e.g., palladium acetate) in the organic solvent media. Obtained solutions remain stable for a relatively long period of time, but they decompose with the formation of large insoluble aggregates as a result of prolonged storage.
