Copper (I) and (II) oxides (Cu2O и CuO, respectively) are binary inorganic compounds of copper and oxygen, naturally found forms of copper. Copper oxides particles of various morphologies can be synthesized in the laboratory. Micro- and nano-structured copper oxides are widely used as catalysts for chemical reactions, e.g., in the synthesis of organosulfur compounds.
