Palladium nanoparticles supported on synthetic graphite powder were prepared by deposition of palladium from Pd2dba3 solution in chloroform. The deposition was performed under reflux while the solution was stirred for 5 minutes. The amount of palladium on the support was 1%. The nanoparticles ranged from 5 to 7 nm in diameter. The nanoparticles attached mainly to surface defects of graphite (point defects, linear defects, domain boundaries), as well as to the edges of graphite sheets. More detail...
